SKILL: ESCAPE TO STANDING SINGLE-LEG

1. Greg is on his back with Julie standing over him in an orthodox stance, either looking to strike or pass Greg’s open guard.

2. Looking to stand, Greg plants his right foot on Julie’s lead leg. He uses it to help pull his left foot across Julie’s lead leg and hooks that behind the lead knee. 

3. Using the hooking foot for control and leverage, Greg scoots his hips out to his right as he posts up on his left elbow.

4. As he sits up, folding his left leg under himself, Greg grabs Julie’s lead knee to avoid being kneed in the face.

5. Greg picks Julie’s lead ankle as he stands, turning his hips around the leg. 6. Greg stands into a single-leg sweep takedown position.
