Jimmy Pedro is one of the most accomplished judo coaches in the world. His former students include MMA stars Ronda Rousey and Rick Hawn. With the help of former US national judo champion Bobby Lee, the US Olympic team head coach presents the best judo moves for mixed martial arts - here's how to execute a perfect ouchi gari.

SKILL: OUCHI GARI (MAJOR INNER REAPING THROW)

1. Jimmy (left) starts the throw holding Bobby’s right lapel with his left hand, and Bobby’s left sleeve with his right hand.

2. Jimmy snaps Bobby’s gi towards him to get a reaction. Jimmy wants Bobby to think he’s going to be thrown forward so he’s off balance for the ouchi gari.

3. Jimmy steps his left foot between Bobby’s feet. And steps his right foot across and behind his left. This back foot is a driving leg.

4. Jimmy generates power from the back leg and begins to move forward. As Bobby starts to move back, Jimmy takes his left reaping leg and hooks it behind Bobby’s right calf.

5. Keeping his head on the opposite side to the reaping leg, Jimmy begins to catapult Bobby back with his chest.

6. Jimmy continues his push forward and drives Bobby to the rear.
