Matt Hughes Single to a Double Set-up With Punch
1. Matt throws a hard right to try and do damage and to make Kenny cover up and expose his legs. The strikes also creates momentum for Matt to step his right leg forward, and it disguises the movement of his leg.
2. Using the momentum from the punch, Matt steps his right leg forward, penetrating deep and secures the single-leg on Kenny.
3. Matt drives into Kenny and lifts the leg transferring Kenny’s weight to his back leg. NOTE: Matt’s level is low, back is straight and his head is up and tight to the ribs.
4. As Kenny lowers his level so he can’t be lifted, Matt circles to his left causing Kenny to hop backwards in a circle taking Kenny off his balance and bringing Kenny’s back leg close to him as he starts to hit a double.
5. Matt drives into and through Kenny capturing the far leg at the knee completing the double-leg and taking Kenny to the mat. NOTE: Matt maintains a nice angle with his back, keeping his head up and tight to Kenny’s back while looking across helping drive Kenny to his back.
