Arguably the biggest bout Cage Warriors could book in 2022 is set to take place on Friday, November 4.

The fireworks will come a night early as, the day before Bonfire Night in the UK, featherweight rivals Jordan Vucenic and Paul Hughes will face off with championship gold on the line in the main event of Cage Warriors 145.

The duo met in a superb bout back in December 2020, when Vucenic edged a split decision to hand Hughes his lone career defeat, then went on to capture the featherweight championship by defeating Morgan Charriere for the belt.



But, with injury forcing “The Epidemic” on the sidelines and unable to defend his title, an interim belt was instituted, and Hughes captured the strap with victory over Charriere.

Now with both men holding a version of the featherweight title, Vucenic and Hughes are on collision course once again, and will face off for the unified title at the Indigo at The O2 on November 4.

“This is the fight that the world wants to see,” said interim champ Hughes, who followed up with a bold prediction.

“On November 4, I will finish Jordan inside two rounds.”

Vucenic, meanwhile, took aim at Hughes for his withdrawal from their planned meeting in March as he delivered a message to those discounting his championship credentials ahead of the rematch.

“If he shows up this time, I’ll show the casuals why you shouldn’t jump on the bandwagon of a fighter when the best thing about his game is an ability to talk s**t,” he stated.

After a close three rounds, two of the judges scored the contest in favour of Qadrian and Loof was handed only the second loss of his career. Prior to the tournament, Loof had spent most of his professional career on FCR. He decided to make the move to Bantamweight following his 2023 Cage Warriors Fight Of The Year against Luke Riley. Although he lost, Loof had fans desperate to see him back in the yellow gloves. In contrast, Maia has spent a large majority of his career under the Cage Warriors banner. Competing seven times, he holds a promotional record of 3-4. Arguably his biggest win to date came away from the Cage Warriors cage, when he handed top Manchester prospect Lewis McGrillen his first defeat in a showcase bout at the 2023 PFL European championship finals. Prior to the Cage Warriors 180 bout being announced, the promotion revealed both men had penned new multi-fight deals with the promotion.
