In Kallang, Singapore, there must be something in the water in Scandinavia. There have been a few high-level MMA athletes to come out of Sweden, but there has been nothing to suggest they would be so dominant at the sport’s amateur level.
The recent IMMAF Asian Open ended with their team winning nine medals in 10 weight classes – four Gold, three Silver and two Bronze – including the top heavyweight prize for the world’s number-one ranked amateur, Irman Smajic.
