Ed Herman ‘Short Fuse’ with more than 10 years in UFC

Q. Who is the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world?

Dhiego Lima

  • Demetrious Johnson. It’s amazing to see him making theadjustments he needs to win while the fight is going on. He’s great everywhere.

Steve Garcia

  • I honestly believe it’s currently Conor McGregor. He took the belts at 145lb and 155lb. That is huge.

Walt Harris

  • Mighty Mouse’ is the best fighter, pound-for-pound. Hands down.

Ed Herman

  • Right now, I think Jon Jones is the best on the planet.

Q. How good are you at listening to advice from your cornermen?

Dhiego Lima

  • I’m pretty good at that. Sometimes, I even look at them to make sure that’s what they’re saying – and I believe that comes with experience

Steve Garcia

  • Listening to my cornermen can be difficult depending on the storm of the fight. It’s still something I’m developing as a competitor.

Walt Harris

  • Listening to my corner is one of my biggest strengths. My coach Jon Dye’s voice is unforgettable!

Ed Herman

  • I feel like I listen pretty well, but I don’t always do what I’m told in the heat of battle…

Q. Which MMA figurehead has inspired you?

Dhiego Lima

  • The one who inspired me the most is my brother Douglas. It’s amazing to watch how he carries himself and how good he is.

Steve Garcia

  • Carlos Condit and Dominick Cruz. Condit puts you in pain wherever the fight goes, while Cruz’s movement shows there is no correct way to fight.

Walt Harris

  • My biggest inspiration is Anderson Silva.

Ed Herman

  • Randy Couture was always a big inspiration to me.

Q. Where did you get your nickname?

  • Dhiego Lima I actually don’t have one.

Steve Garcia

  • Everyone would always tell me I was a machine who would never stop training. Once I competed, they’d always tell me I was mean in fights.

Walt Harris

  • I actually stole it from NBA legend Kevin Garnett. It was my mom’s idea!

Ed Herman

  • Mine came from Chris Leben and Chael Sonnen after I’d punched a few holes in the wall during some frustrating practices as a youngster.

Q. Is DC good enough to beat Jon Jones this time around?

Dhiego Lima

  • He’s good, but he won’t beat Jon Jones. Jones is just way too long for him and has the takedown defense, so I don’t see him getting beat by Cormier.

Steve Garcia

  • I might be a bit biased because Jon is a teammate, but DC is not good enough to beat him. He is good enough to hang with him for another five rounds, though.

Walt Harris

  • No. I think Jon is too talented everywhere

Ed Herman

  • No. Flat out. I don’t think DC is good enough to beat Jones this time either.
