The neck crank is a submission in itself, but it also opens the guard of your opponent.



01 MOVE ONE

Hold the back of opponent's head with both arms, while keeping your forearms on his chest.



02 MOVE TWO

When opponent opens guard, let go of neck crank and trap your opponent's thigh with your forearm.



03 MOVE THREE

While still trapping your opponent's guard with your forearm, grab his opposite leg by the ankle.



04 MOVE FOUR

Still trapping your opponent's guard with forearm, pass his leg/foot to the outside of your legs.



05 MOVE FIVE While passing the guard, keep hold of

opponent's legs until you're clearly free.



06 MOVE SIX

You're now in side control.
