Cody Garbrandt won the belt after 10 fights, so should more novices get title shots?

If they have an impressive winning streak against dominant fighters. Yes, I believe in that case that they do deserve it.
DAVID RICKELS
Garbrandt was a great decision. Cruz had fought most of the other top guys.
Cody and the team were smart to play off his momentum.
JARED CANNONIER
I don't think Garbrandt is a novice.
If a fighter shows promise or potential, a matchmaker will pick the fight that is more marketable.
COURTNEY CASEY
If you win fights and you are putting on great shows I don’t see why ‘novice’ fighters can’t get title shots.
Have we seen the last of Ronda Rousey?
FERNANDO GONZALEZ
I don’t think so. I think if she gets some outside help she’ll be back in the cage again.
DAVID RICKELS
If Ronda doesn’t need the money and she’s not hungry anymore, she needs to quit. But maybe this sparks a fire in her.
JARED CANNONIER
It's tough to say. It could be, but only Ronda knows the answer to that question.

I'm not sure if we have seen the last of Ronda, but I really hope it’s not. If they open up that 125lb division maybe she’ll be champ again.
Have you ever taken a fight despite being injured?
FERNANDO GONZALEZ
Yes. Sometimes you have to fight to stay alive and to eat.

Injury or not, a caveman still has to eat. This is our way of life.
There is almost always some kind of small Injury going into every fight.
JARED CANNONIER
I've been blessed to never have to take a fight with a serious injury. Going into a fight, everybody has their bumps and bruises.
COURTNEY CASEY
In the Claudia Gadelha fight, I got in a car accident just a couple days before signing my contract, so my whole camp was working around the injuries.
What are your future goals?
FERNANDO GONZALEZ
To beat as many of the top 10 fighters as I can in order to earn my title shot and get paid some real money.
DAVID RICKELS
World domination, cloning a dinosaur, and earning three wins in a row for Bellator.
JARED CANNONIER
I will be a better servant of the Lord. All the rest I will play by ear.

I would like to pick up a win, go on a three-fight winning streak and work towards a title shot in 2018.

FERNANDO GONZALEZ
No, I have not been asked to join a union yet.
DAVID RICKELS
I’ve never been asked to join a fighters union or association.
It’s really hard to find my cave on GPS though.
JARED CANNONIER
I've gotten the letters that tell you to ‘contact us if you have any questions’. I haven’t received any official ‘fighters’ union wants you’ posters, though.
COURTNEY CASEY
I've been asked but nothing sounds to be set in stone on how it will be executed. So for right now I’m just keeping an open mind on the situations that are going on.
