The bantamweight title fight at Cage Warriors 144 will go ahead as planned after the main event fighters successfully made weight ahead of fight night in Rome, Italy, but one of the other big draws on the card has been forced to sit out the show.
Reigning bantamweight champion Dominique Wooding and Italian title challenger Michele Martignoni both came in under the 135-pound championship limit for their main event clash, but the scheduled co-main event was forced off the card after French star Morgan Charriere’s opponent, Alberth Dias, tipped the scale at 150.5 pounds, 5.5 pounds over the featherweight limit, for their planned bout.
The remainder of the fighters on the card hit their contracted weights, with one notable change. Daan Duijs was forced off the card due to injury, with Jefferson Machado De Filippis stepping in to face Dylan Hazan, with the pair agreeing to a short-notice bout at a catchweight of 140 pounds.
Cage Warriors 144 takes place Friday, October 7 at Fiera Roma in Rome, Italy, and streams live on UFC Fight Pass.
