The leading European promotion is set to return to the BT Sport studios in Stratford, London on Sunday, November 20 for its third “Unplugged” show, with a flyweight title fight in the main event.
The bout is a rematch between Sam Creasey and Shajidul Haque as the pair get set to face off in a second meeting after Haque took the unanimous decision victory in the first outing at the inaugural “Unplugged” event in 2016.
That bout was a non-title affair, but now, with Creasey heading into the bout as the reigning Cage Warriors flyweight champion, it carries higher stakes, with the promotion’s 125-pound title on the line. Creasey will look to avenge his prior loss and retain his title, while Haque will bid to repeat the feat and capture Cage Warriors gold.
The event comes three years after Cage Warriors Unplugged 2, which featured a four-man bantamweight championship tournament that saw Jack Cartwright defeat Scott Malone and Marko Kovacevic in one night to capture the 135-pound title.
The first “Unplugged” event featured a host of familiar names, with then-featherweight champion Paddy Pimblett defeating Julian Erosa in the main event, while the promotion’s lightweight champ at the time, Chris Fishgold, defeated Nic Herron-Webb in the co-main event.
The promotion has grown from strength to strength since that event, and after an historic first event in Italy at Cage Warriors 144 in Rome earlier this month, the promotion is ready to return to the BT Sport studios for their third instalment of their “Unplugged” series.
“After an unforgettable night in Rome, we now look forward and are excited to announce that ‘Unplugged’ will return at the BT Sport Studios in London on November 20,” said Cage Warriors president Graham Boylan.
“With titles on the line at CW 145 and 146, we’re keeping the stakes high for CW 147 Unplugged with Sam Creasey putting his flyweight belt on the line against Shajidul Haque. Expect more fights to be added in the coming days.”
