Fans wanting to know where they can watch French featherweight favourite Morgan Charriere in the months ahead now have their answer.
Charriere has signed a new multi-fight contract with Cage Warriors, and will return to action at Cage Warriors 144 in Rome, Italy on October 7.
“The Last Pirate” has been one of the UK promotion’s top featherweights for the last couple of years, and captured the Cage Warriors 145-pound title with a body-shot finish of Perry Goodwin at Cage Warriors 119 in December 2020.
That title reign was ended in his first defence as he was edged out by current champ Jordan Vucenic via split decision. Then, with Vucenic out through injury, Charriere lost another decision, this time against Paul Hughes for the interim featherweight strap.
Now Charriere is looking to mount a fresh tilt toward the featherweight title, and hopes to build momentum with an impressive victory over Brazil’s Alberth Dias on October 7 in Rome.
Victory will put “The Last Pirate” right back in the championship mix at 145 pounds and, with Vucenic and Hughes set to face off at Cage Warriors 145 on November 4, he could potentially find himself next in line for another shot at gold.
