1. Michael McDonald gifted prime tickets to cafe owner

Top UFC bantamweight Michael McDonald quietly displayed his generosity in February when he gave a London cafe owner two front-row tickets to his Wembley Arena title fight at UFC on Fuel 7. 

Fighters Only learned McDonald had visited the establishment, Cafe 2000, situated just yards from the venue, every day in the lead-up to his challenge for Renan Barao’s interim 135lb title. 

And on fight day, a member of McDonald’s corner team visited the food establishment to hand over a pair of front-row tickets as appreciation for the proprietor’s hospitality.

2. Greg Jackson confirms Mexico talent rumor

Award-winning coach Greg Jackson recently confirmed to Fighters Only he should be taking on a batch of UFC-scouted Mexican talent. 

Last issue, FO reported the cream of a recent UFC scouting trip in Mexico for lighter weight fighters would be sent to train at Greg Jackson’s famed Albuquerque gym. 

Jackson told FO: “That’s supposedly happening, although I haven’t seen any of them yet. It’s just fun to work with fighters and different countries and different personalities. I enjoy it quite a bit, so it should be good.”

3. Gina Carano won't close door on MMA

Rising Hollywood starlet, and former Strikeforce and EliteXC fighter, Gina Carano refused to call time on her MMA career in a recent interview. 

When pressed, the fan favorite told SB Nation you “can’t say that” she’s officially finished and that she still trains.

She cryptically added: “I wake up every morning and I surprise myself, and I wake up to a new me every day.” 

She also stated: “I think that if your focus is fighting then you’re a fighter, and that’s not my focus right now.”

4. UFC on Fox commercial spot costs big bucks

It appears ad spots during the UFC’s colossal Fox fight cards cost companies serious money. 

A report by respected advertising publication Adweek recently reported TV commercial slots during UFC on Fox 6 in January, headlined by the UFC flyweight title bout between Demetrious Johnson and John Dodson, were costing in the low six figures.
