Fighters Only pits its first husband and wife against one another. Step forward UFC vet Jorge Gurgel and ex-Bellator champ wife Zoila in FO’s three-round, 15-question face-off.

Round 1: Around the Octagon

What age did you start training?

Jorge: “At 15.”

Zoila: “I think about 23.”

How quick was your fastest knockout?

Jorge: “I’ve never had a knockout.”

Zoila: “Two minutes.”

Favorite move to end a fight?

Jorge: “Conditioning.”

Zoila: “High kick.”

Favorite part of training camp?

Jorge: “Everything. That’s why my coaches call me the backwards fighter.”

Zoila: “The tapering down right before the fight starts. The end.”

‘Fight of the Night’ or early finish?

Jorge: “Early finish. ‘Fight of the Night’ means two people both got beat up.”

Zoila: “Early finish.”

VERDICT: 10-10 – Neck and neck, this couple is inseparable

Round 2: Personal life

Favorite luxury item?

Jorge: “My Gibson Les Paul. It’s the same guitar Slash from Guns ‘n’ Roses plays.”

Zoila: “My wedding ring.”

What’s your favorite meal?

Jorge: “Me and my wife are sushi aficionados.”

Zoila: “That would be a cheat meal, and that would be pizza (laughs). Any pizza.”

Skimmed milk or ice-cold beer?

Jorge: “I don’t drink dairy or alcohol. My favorite is zero-calorie Powerade.”

Zoila: “I don’t even drink beer so I guess the milk. I don’t drink alcohol.”

Trip to the theater or a monster truck rally

Jorge: “I grew up with my mom taking me to the theater. Definitely that.”

Zoila: “Trip to the theater.”

Who is your ideal woman/man?

Jorge: “My wife. I can honestly say I married my ideal woman.”

Zoila: “My husband (laughs). Which is why I’m with him.”

VERDICT: 10-9 ZOILA – Jorge’s Powerade obsession means the missus sneaks it

Round 3: Have you ever…

…stolen anything from a hotel?

Jorge: “No. But one of my coaches stole a very nice Manadalay Bay bath robe.”

Zoila: “Yes, the shampoo and conditioner.”

…dropped food on the floor but eaten it anyway?

Jorge: “I’m from Brazil. In the US it’s the three- second rule, in Brazil it’s 30 minutes.”

Zoila: “Of course.”

…killed your dinner?

Jorge: “Hundreds of times. Growing up I used to spend half my year on a farm.”

Zoila: “No.”

…ridden an animal?

Jorge: “Yeah, I used to enter horse races. My uncle had a lot of purebreds.”

Zoila: “A horse, but it was a long time ago.”

…considered taking a bullet for someone?

Jorge: “Absolutely: for my wife, my mother, my younger brother.”

Zoila: “Yes.”

VERDICT: 10-10 – Another even round, though the horse racing gets credit

FINAL VERDICT: Invicta FC’s Zoila edges husband Jorge by the skin of her teeth, 30-29.
