‘The Huntington Beach Bad Boy’ will forever be remembered as one of the UFC’s greatest champions. Though often polarizing, he was one of the first fighters to have mainstream appeal thanks to his fighting ability and personality.

He may be short on wins recently and fighting on past his prime, but never forget the mouthy bleached-haired light heavyweight was once the biggest UFC star on the planet.

Just like during his halcyon days of his career, it’s Tito’s relentless approach to the sport which has seen him survive so long. He may be battered and bruised but he’s still headlining cards and challenging for belts.

TEAM PUNISHMENT

As well as being one of the planet’s most recognizable fighters, Tito has many business interests including owning his own clothing and equipment line and his own training facility.

ALWAYS RELEVANT

After making his pro debut in the UFC, Ortiz has managed to stay relevant for 20 years and remains one of the biggest stars in mixed martial arts.

Not only that but he’s still challenging for title belts too.

GRAPPLE SAVVY

Tito could punch with both hands, but it was his dominant wrestling game and ground ‘n’ pound and submissions which set him apart in the early Noughties.

MASTER OF TAKEDOWNS

One of his greatest strengths throughout his career, especially in the early days, was his ability to shoot and takedown foes almost at will. It was the key to his UFC title reign.

HELL-BOWS

Tito always had that killer instinct and wouldn’t think twice about raining down punishment on his opponents, especially from inside their guard. He was one of the first real masters of effective elbow striking.
