Former Cage Warriors title challenger Aiden Lee has resigned with Cage Warriors, 6 years after his initial run with the promotion.
Lee first fought on Cage Warriors just three years into his professional career when he met Konmon Deh at Cage Warriors 77. Deh used his experience to hand Lee the first loss of his professional career with a unanimous decision.
The Renegade man then made the decision to drop to Featherweight, in a move which garnered some success. Lee also had the opportunity to show his impressive ground game as he beat Fabien Gallinaro with a first round inverted heel hook, Kacper Formela and Ludovit Klein with two first round rear naked chokes.
With momentum building steadily, he decided to go back up to Lightweight in a contest against Donovan Desmae at Cage Warriors 89. Desmase took the unanimous decision which again led to Lee making the move back to Featherweight for the foreseeable future. The drop back to Featherweight and a win over Tom Mearns led to Lee being announced as one of the fighters that would feature in the four-man tournament, competing for the vacant Featherweight title at Cage Warriors 100.
To earn his shot at the title, Lee had to first come up against Paull McBain in the semi-final round at Cage Warriors 98. He continued the habit he was developing of dispatching of his opponents early and through his grappling, by stopping McBain with a first round rear naked choke. This then set up a clash with Dean Trueman just two months later for the Cage Warriors gold.
After the loss, Lee became one of a large amount of UK fighters that signed a multi-fight with Bellator, ahead of their targeted expansion around Europe. Unfortunately for Lee, his Bellator tenure started much like his Cage Warriors one, with a unanimous decision defeat in his hometown at the hands of Saul Rogers.
He spent three years with the promotion racking up a 3-3 record across his six outings.
Lee then explored the free agency market to varying levels of success. After a win at Levels Fight League 8, he dropped a decision and a fourth round stoppage in 2023.
Speaking about his return to Cage Warriors, Lee said:
"It's great to be resigning with Europe's top promotion. I always felt like I had unfinished business with Cage Warriors so it's good to be back and I'll be collecting that gold strap on my way to the UFC."
