Jack ‘The Joker’ Hermansson proved experience is key as he rallied late to beat Joe ‘Bodybagz’ Pfyer in the main event of UFC Vegas 86.
The bout was largely acknowledged to be a gritty veteran taking on an up and coming prospect, to gauge where exactly Pyfer sat in the division.
The first two rounds saw Pyfer push the pace, dominate the contest and even rock Hermansson in the first but the Swedishman came on strong in the third, fourth and fifth to secure the win.
Pyfer came out swinging and landed several big shots to both the head and the body in the first round but ‘The Joker’ managed to survive. The second round was very much the same, with Hermansson eventually starting to work his way in to the contest and establishing his game plan.
The leg kicks proved to be pivotal for Hermansson, who reaped the rewards later in the contest. After surviving the early onslaught, the UFC veteran worked well in order to get the win.
Dan Ige needed less than 3 minutes to defeat the short notice opponent Andre Fili in the Co main event. ‘50K’ landed a huge overhand right to the chin of Fili which rendered the Team Alpha Male man unconscious immediately.
Ihor Potieria took all three rounds against Robert Bryczek and earned the unanimous decision victory. After a pause in the action in the first round due to an accidental eye poke, the two threw big shots for the duration of the bout with Potieria landing the cleaner and more impactful strikes.
Gregory Rodrigues scored an impressive victory against Brad Tavares after a tough first round, Rodrigues bounced back and took the second before finishing his opponent against the cage in the third.
Michael Johnson got the better of Darrius Flowers, collecting a unanimous decision win as Rodolfo Vieira, Carlos Prates, Bolaji Oki, Loma Lookboonmee, Marcin Prachnio, Max Griffin, Bogdan Guskov, Hyder Amil all picked up wins.
The opening bout of the evening resulted in a no contest after an accidental low blow from Marcos meant Aori Qilgeng could not continue.
