UFC 298 features an enthralling main event for the UFC Featherweight strap as surging prospect Ilia Topuria looks to continue his unbeaten run against champion, Alexander Volkanovski.

Volkanovski will look to bounce back to winning ways after his short notice contest against Islam Makhachev at UFC 294, in his quest to become a two weight division world champion. However, at 145lbs 'The Great' has looked unstoppable ever since his promotional debut in 2016.

Topuria has shone since signing with the UFC back in 2020. In just 6 fights, ‘El Matador’ has flown through the division, picking up four vicious stoppage wins and two unanimous decisions all on his way to his maiden title shot.

Middleweight contenders will meet in the co-main event as Robert Whittaker returns to the fold against Paulo Costa. The bout will mark the first time fight fans have seen Costa in the cage for a year and a half, following a frustrating 2023 for the Brazilian. He was scheduled to compete at UFC 294 but a nasty elbow infection led to ‘The Eraser’ being pulled from the card and spending a substantial amount of time on the side lines while it healed.

Whittaker enters the bout on the back of a loss to now-champion Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 290. The Reaper will be hoping that a big win against Costa will keep his title hopes alive.

Ian Machado Gary will look to extend his unbeaten record to 14 when he faces Geoff Neal will eventually meet in a Welterweight

Former two weight division champion Henry Cejudo is set to face Merab Dvalishvili in a Bantamweight contest which could decide who will face the winner of Sean O Malley and Marlon Vera.

Ahead of the fight night, the UFC’s Countdown cameras caught up with both fighters, and their teams, as they made their final preparations for their light heavyweight championship matchup. Check it out via the video player below.
