Brendan Allen was pushed all of the way in his main event clash with Chris Curtis as UFC Vegas 90.
After a back and forth five rounds, the judges were left split as to who they felt won the fight, with one judge favouring Curtis whilst the other two opted for Allen.
The two men met in The Octagon for the second time, with Curtis walking away with the second round TKO the first time they met in 2021.
Allen started the second contest the stronger of the two, in what was a frantic pace to start a five round affair.
Curtis came out much more aggressive in the second round, dictating the flow of the next five minutes taking the centre of the octagon. It was the only round all three judges unanimously gave 'Chaos'.
The other three rounds were equally as close, with Allen really establishing himself and putting his mark on the end of the fight with a strong last round.
It was a night for main card split decisions with both the co-main and the Chepe Mariscal vs Morgan Charriere bout leaving the judges torn.
Alex Hernandez finds himself in a precarious position following his co-main event split decision loss to Damon Jackson.
After missing weight initially by four pounds then a pound and a half, it was a less than ideal fight week for Hernandez.
Jackson brought the pressure early, finding success with leg kicks and strikes in the clinch, comfortably taking round one.
Hernandez came on strong in the third, dropping Jackson with a heavy shot and ending up in full mount. Jackson then turned the tides slightly looking for a rear naked choke but it was a strong round for Hernandez.
At the final bell, the judges were split once more, with Jackson taking the bout 29-28, 29-28, 30-27.
It was the same story with the judges in the Featherweight bout between Morgan Charriere vs Chepe Mariscal. Both men were more than happy to stand and trade over the three rounds.
Both men feeling they had done enough to get their hand raised, it was back to the score cards, with Mariscal edging the bout 29-28, 30-27,29-28.
Ignacio Bahamondes scored a highlight reel knock out when he landed a spinning heel kick flush on the jaw of Christos Giagos in their Lightweight contest.
Elsewhere on the card, Germaine de Randamie fell short in her return to The Octagon loosing by way of unanimous decision to Norma Dumont. The former champion was making the walk for the first time since 2020 and was comfortably beaten in the first and third round.
Melissa Mullins was handed her first professional loss, with a second round TKO loss to Nora Cornolle.
