Cage Warriors have announced the first weight division set to battle it out in their Prizefighter tournament, with the Bantamweight division receiving the call up.

It was announced earlier this year that the extremely exciting Prizefighter format would return to Cage Warriors, with the winner walking away with a cool $50,000 prize.

There is also the chance for fighters to earn an extra $10,000 if they can correctly predict which round they will win their contest and by which method, with the bounty bonuses also reintroduced.

Taking to social media, the promotion broke the news that the Bantamweights would be the first division set to compete in the tournament. They said:

"BREAKING NEWS #Prizefighter is locked and loaded for #CW174 London on July 20th!

"Kicking off with the bantamweight division, six confirmed contenders are poised for glory!

"One Night. One Winner. $50K Prize"

As mentioned in the announcement, 6 athletes are set to compete. The tournament will see two semi final bouts, before the final goes down later that night. The third bout will ultimately serve as an alternate, with two reserve athletes fighting it out. The winner of the alternative bout will only get to compete in the final, if one of the other finalists can not continue due to an injury. The promotion have also confirmed that the athletes set to feature will be announced this week.

The tournament will take place at Cage Warriors 174, on July 20th at the Indigo at the O2 London. The card will see former Middleweight champion James Webb move up to 205lbs and face Yannick Bahati in a Light Heavyweight contest.

Thomas Paull will look to secure his first Cage Warriors win in a Featherweight war against Jordy Bakkes. Rafael Aronov will meet Jamie Richardson in a Middleweight contest and Tom Creasey returns to the fold in a Flyweight bout against Raz Bring. Nik Bagley will pull on the yellow gloves for the first time this year when he meets Ryan Shelley at 145lbs.
