Dakota Ditcheva cruised to another first round stoppage to secure the top spot of the Women’s Flyweight table in one of the stand out performances at PFL 4: 2024 Regular Season.
The card played host to the second week of the regular season for the Heavyweights and Women’s Flyweight divisions as the competitors looked to push on to the Playoffs and take one step closer to the 2024 title and the $1million prize money.
In the main event, Linton Vassell went 2-1 in his trilogy bout against Valentin Moldavsky but it wasn’t enough for him to earn a semi-final spot. Although he found himself on the wrong side of the result on Thursday night, due to his impressive first round stoppage over Ante Delija in the first week of the Regular Season Moldavsky still managed to progress to the Playoffs.
Once again, Ditcheva proved that the hype surrounding her is more than deserved with a brutal first round stoppage against Chelsea Hackett in the co-main event. The win cemented the Brit at the top of the table and saw her collect her 9th first round finish! If the 25-year-old can make it past the Playoffs, a tough test will lie ahead, irrespective of whom wins on the other side of the bracket.
Denis Goltsov’s first round stoppage over Thiago Santos secured him top spot in the Heavyweight table. Tim Johnson made the most of his short notice call up and managed to nab the fourth and final spot of the Playoffs with a first round win against Danilo Marques.
The Heavyweight Playoffs will see Denis Goltsov face Tim Johnson and Oleg Popov take on Valentin Moldavsky.
Former UFC title challenger Taila Santos continued her flawless form since signing with the PFL, earning a split decision against Jena Bishop and solidifying her second place in the Flyweight rankings. After a decision win at PFL 1, it was crucial for Liz Carmouche to find a finish in her bout against Kana Watanabe, and she did, with a third round submission win.
The way in which the results and standings played out in the Women’s Flyweight tournament, fans will see two prospects square off on one side of the bracket whilst two most experienced women in the tournament battle it out on the other. Ditcheva will face Bishop whilst Liz Carmouche faces Taila Santos.
