Mason ‘The Dragon’ Jones is set to face Michael Pagani at Cage Warriors 175.

The promotion will head to the BEC Arena, Manchester just two days before the UFC take over the city on Saturday with their stacked UFC 304 card, which will feature many a familiar face who have pulled on the yellow gloves, such as Tom Aspinall, Paddy Pimblett and Molly McCann.

Former Cage Warriors Lightweight and Welterweight champion, Jones, is currently riding a three fight winning streak since returning the promotion. After claiming the Lightweight strap against Joe McColgan and the 170lbs title against Adam Proctor, Jones signed with the UFC. However, things did not get off to a flying start as he was handed a unanimous decision loss against Mike David in his promotional debut.

In his next fight inside the Octagon, Jones appeared to have made significant improvements and was looking seriously impressive against Alan Patrick , before an accidental eye poke led to the bout being ruled a no contest. The pair were meant to rematch just 5 months but Patrick was forced to withdraw which led to Jones picking up his first UFC win by way of a unanimous decision against David Onama. He then faced Ludovit Klein but found himself on the wrong side of the result and ultimately, this led to him parting ways with the UFC.

Since resigning with Cage Warriors, Jones has been in fine form, picking up three stoppage victories. In his first bout of his second tenure with the promotion, Jones faced Alexandre Ribeiro at Cage Warriors 158, in Rome. ‘The Dragon’ stopped Ribeiro in the very first round and instantly put the rest of the Lightweight division on notice. Just three months later he then faced the former Lightweight title challenger Yann Liasse at Cage Warriors 161 and stopped the Luxembourg native in the second round. In his last outing, Jones stopped Bryce Logan in the second round of their bout.

The unbeaten Michael Pagani will be looking to the biggest win of his career when he meets the Welshman on July 25. Having built an impressive 5-0-0 record on the domestic scene, Pagani signed with Cage Warriors last year and in his opening contest, faced the surging James Power. In what was a tough back and forth 15 minutes, Pagani done enough to steal the last two rounds and collect the unanimous decision win.

The Lightweight bout is yet another great addition to the Cage Warriors 175 card and the victor will likely secure the top spot to face currently Lightweight king, George Hardwick, next.
