Reece McEwan will look to get back to winning ways when he returns to the cage against Miguel Haro at Cage Warriors 176.
The Bantamweight bout will take place on September 7, as the promotion head to North of the UK border for their second show in Glasgow this year.
Speaking exclusively to Fighters Only, McEwan revealed that as much as he has struggled with the first back to back losses of his career, he is ready to bounce back and make a big statement at the Braehead Arena. He said:
“Buzzing to get an opponent confirmed for September 7th.
“There’s no shying away from the fact this has been the most difficult, and challenging chapter in my career.
“But adversity leads to growth.
“You have to face the challenge head on, respond to it and move forward stronger & better.
"The hurt and lessons have fuelled me to be better and now it’s up to me to close these fine margins and get a win in front of my amazing support in September.
"Glasgow…let’s go!”
The first of the two losses came in his Cage Warriors Bantamweight Championship bout against Liam Gittins at Cage Warriors 156. In a valiant effort, and after receiving two severe cuts to the head, McEwan made it to the final bell but dropped a unanimous decision.
He then returned when the promotion headed back to his homeland at Cage Warriors 171, when he faced UFC veteran Cameron Else. Although McEwan came close to ending the contest when he tied up a slick arm bar, Else used his experience and fight IQ to work his way through the fight and claim the decision win.
Haro enters the bout on the back of a two fight win streak, with both contests taking place in 2024. The Frenchman had not competed since 2016, when he returned to the cage in 2022 he was handed back to back losses against Carlos Abreu and Dean Garnett.
The 32 year old seems extremely keen on making 2024 a big year and if he can get his hand raised against McEwan, he can send a warning to the rest of the Cage Warriors Bantamweight division.
