Two athletes missed weight but all bouts will go ahead at tomorrow night’s Cage Warriors 175.
The card, which will be the promotions second within a week, will kick off a huge week in Manchester, with UFC 304 going down at the Co-op Live Arena on Saturday night (July 27).
There was a small hitch during the weigh ins with both Kevin Cesari and Maicon Kobayashi missing weight. Cesari initially came in at 140.9lbs ahead of Bantamweight bout against Jack Axworthy and was only able to get down to 139.9lbs, 3.9lbs over the contracted weight. Kobayashi tipped the scales at 167.3lbs at the first time of asking before weighing 166.1lbs prior to his 165lbs catchweight bout with Teddy Stringer. Both bouts will still go ahead, with Cesari and Kobayashi being fined a percentage of their purse.
In the main event, Dario Bellandi will look to make the first defence of his Cage Warriors Middleweight championship against promotional newcomer Robin Roos. The Italian claimed Cage Warriors gold at Cage Warriors 164 in November 2023, when he outworked Mick Stanton and collected a unanimous decision win. Roos comes into the bout on the back of a highlight reel finish against Kevin Fryer at Superior Challenge 26.
The co-main event will see Mason Jones make the walk to the Cage Warriors cage for the fourth in his second tenure with the promotion. Since resigning ‘The Dragon’ has been on a tear, with three stoppage wins. Looking to put a stop to his form, the unbeaten Michael Pagani will be the man across the cage from the former double champion on the Thursday night. In Pagani’s only bout in the yellow gloves, he handed James Power his first loss.
The main card will also see the return of Adam Cullen and former Welterweight champion Stefano Paterno, who will face Yan Blasco and Olli Santalahti, respectively. Adam Shelley is back in action less than a week after his brother, Ryan, as he takes on Ieuan Davies. Rounding out the main card will be a Lightweight bout between Matthew Camilleri and Emanuele Sabatino.
The featured preliminary bout will see George Smith back under the Cage Warriors Banner for the first time since 2024. He will take on one of the promotion’s most recent signings, Craig Rawlins. There will also be appearances from the likes of Teddy Stringer, Dylan Hazan, Kallum Parker and Jack Axworthy.
