The surging Ibragim Ibragimov will be back in action at Bellator Champions Series London when he faces Lucas Aguiar.

The pair will meet in a Featherweight bout on what is turning into an incredibly exciting card on September 14 at the OVO Arena, London in a fight night that will see the Bellator Middleweight title on the line when Johnny Eblen and Fabian Edwards meet once again.

After a perfect amateur run, which saw Ibragimov beat some amateur standouts on the UK scene including Kayne Holmes and Stafford Swainston, he joined the professional ranks at the age of 17 and set away building a name for himself on the domestic scene. Within his first four months as a pro, ‘The Mauler’ had secured two victories, both by way of first round ground and pound. He then fought four more times on the local circuit between 2022 and 2023, before being signed by the PFL earlier this year.

In his promotional debut, the 20-year-old faced his toughest opponent so far in the form of Welshman and former Cage Warriors Bantamweight title challenger, Josh Reed. With 15 fights more than Ibragimov under his belt, Reed has appeared on several major promotions over his 11 year professional career and was poised to test the young up and coming prospect at PFL Newcastle. However, Ibragimov had other ideas and in just 50 seconds, tied up and arm triangle and forced the tap from the UK MMA veteran.

After a difficult start to professional life, Aguiar appears to be in some impressive form, going 4-1 in his last 5 contests. Ibragimov is yet to be tested on the ground but there is a strong possibility that Aguiar could be the man to do it. Of his 10 victories, the Brazilian has picked up 7 by way of submission.

With 14 stoppage wins between them, the Featherweight clash could very well be one of the fights of the night come September 14.
