Another showcase bout has been added to PFL Glasgow, with Matiss Zaharovs making the trip to Scotland to face Brian Hyslop.

The Bantamweights will meet in a showcase bout on September 28, as the promotion head to Scotland for the first time, with a plethora of Scottish athletes set to feature. 

The main event will see 2022 PFL Global Championship finalist, and Scottish MMA legend, Stevie Ray will face Welsh MMA veteran Lewis Long in a Welterweight clash, whilst Scotsman Robert Whiteford faces UFC veteran Roger Huerta. 

In Zaharovs’ his last outing, he made his maiden trip to the Smart Cage to face top PFL prospect Lewis McGrillen. Although McGrillen got the nod, Zaharovs pushed the Manchester man over all three rounds. 

Prior to that the 26-year-old, spend the majority of his career on the BRAVE CF stage, amassing a 2-2 promotional record, before returning to the Irish domestic scene and featuring on the inaugural Anthony Pettis FC UK card. 

Zaharovs wont be the only man representing SBG Ireland, with Valentina Scattizi set to take part in the PFL Europe Womens Flyweight Playoff for the second consecutive year. 

Standing across the cage from him on September 28 will be gritty veteran Brian Hyslop. The Scotsman will return to the cage for the first time since 2018, and will add PFL to a list of major promotions he has competed on, including Cage Warriors and BAMMA. 

When Hyslop first joined the professional ranks in 2011, he was extremely active, competing four times that year and winning all four bouts. His first loss came 

Hyslop joins team mates Stevie Ray, Mark Ewen, Gemma Auld and Lorenzo Parente on the packed card, which will go down at the OVO Arena, Glasgow. As well as several showcase contests, the card will also play home to the 2024 PFL European Playoffs.
