Ibo Aslan will meet Raffael Cerqueira in a Light Heavyweight clash at UFC 308.

The 205lbs clash is added to what was already an impressive card, with Ilia Topuria looking to make his first title defence against the UFC BMF Max Holloway in the main event.

Aslan signed with the UFC following an impressive first round stoppage against Paulo Renato Jr on the 2023 season of Dana White’s Contender Series.

‘The Last Ottoman’ then made his promotional debut earlier this year, when he faced Anton Turkalj at UFC New Jersey. The 28-year-old stopped Turkalj in the third round and cemented himself as an up and calming prospect at 205lbs.

The unbeaten Cerqueira is, without doubt, Aslan’s biggest challenge to date. The Brazilian will be looking to make a big impact in his promotional debut.

'The Lion' first joined the professional ranks in 2019 and made his debut on Brazilian show, Qualify Combat 9. The debut lasted a little over half a minute as he finished Gustavo dos Santos in 35 seconds, with a kick to the body.

It would be almost two years before he back in the cage but since 2021, 'The Lion' has remained extremely active.

The quick starter has finished 8 of his 11 opponents in the very first round and has only needed the judges scorecards once in his career thus far.

He enters the UFC on an impressive run of four consecutive first round stoppages, three by way of strikes and one submission.

The Light Heavyweight was set to feature on this year's season of Dana White's Contender Series but signed with the promotion prior to the fight night.

Elsewhere on the UFC 308 card, Robert Whittaker will face Khamzat Chimaev in a Middleweight bout, Cyril Gane returns for the first time in over a year to face Alexander Volkov in a Heavyweight clash and undefeated Brit, Lerone Murphy, takes on Dan Ige.
