Sean Brady has his sights set on two potential opponents following his victory at UFC Vegas 97.
The 31-year-old picked up his biggest win to date on Saturday night as he claimed a unanimous decision win against Gilbert Burns. Over the five round affair, Brady’s constant pressure and fast pace proved to be too much for ‘Durinho’.
Speaking to the media post fight, Brady reflected on the dominant performance and paid a lot of credit to Burns. He said:
“(He is a)Former title challenger. Fought some of the best. Beat some of the best. Loss to some of the best. An amazing fighter, a guy I've looked up to in my career. Like I said earlier this week, I felt like I'm just a younger, little bit better version of Gilbert, and I feel like I proved that tonight but I've always looked up to him.
“He's an amazing fighter and for me to go out there and beat him over five rounds. I remember watching him fight Tyron Woodley and all these guys and now for me to go in there and do it, it's definitely the biggest win of my career.”
Post fight, Brady called for a showdown against Ian Machado Garry. In his post fight interview the media, he expanded on why he would like to take on the Irishman and also revealed another name he would like to come up against in the cage.
“I think Ian just thinks that he's f**king God's gift to Earth, and he's not. You know? And I feel like everyone in the sport feels the same way.
“He's undefeated. He's got some hype. I'm going to be before he said, I won't fight guys who are right behind me. I'm going to be ranked ahead of him on Tuesday with that number six spot. So, yeah, maybe I'll let him fight me. We'll see how it works out.
When asked when he would like to compete next, the expectant father is extremely keen to get back in the octagon once more before the year is out.
"Hopefully before the end of the year, maybe late December, somewhere in there."
