The penultimate episode of Season 8 of Dana White's Contender Series went down at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas last night.
Four fighters delivered big knockouts that earned them a UFC contract making this entry certainly one to watch back.
In the main event of the evening, Artem Vakhitov was able to showcase his dangerous striking skills after a strange start to the fight against Islem Masraf.
The former GLORY world champion is the last man to beat Alex Pereira in kickboxing and his history with "Poatan" ended up being vital in him earning a contract.
Pereira was in attendance at the Apex and told Dana White to sign Vakhitov, making the case for why he deserves to be in the UFC after the MMA leader's boss was underwhelmed by his performance.
Kody Steele finished off his story on this season by stopping Chasen Blair in the second round with a devastating body shot.
Steele had to wait to get his opportunity after several episodes ago, his original opponent withdrew from the match-up once the card was already live from the Apex.
Former LFL heavyweight champion Mario Pinto finished Lucas Camacho with a swift left hook, meaning that he will be representing Fightzone London inside the Octagon.
The highlight of the night came from Germany's Islam Dulatov who may be a model as well as being a fighter but that doesn't mean he can't dish out a hellbow like the one that stopped Vantilo Antunes in this fight.
Opening the card was a high-level clash between flyweights Sean Gauci and Anthony Drilich that went all three rounds.
Both men clearly have potential and Dana White echoed this during the episode but this time around, Gauci's win wasn't enough to earn him a spot on the roster.
