UFC Vegas 100 has got it's main event as a rising welterweight star takes on a staple of the division.
Neil Magny is no stranger to facing the new contenders at 170-pounds and this will be no different when he meets dangerous striker Carlos Prates on November 9.
Prates has gone 3-0 inside the Octagon since earning his spot on the roster with an impressive showing on last year's season of Dana White's Contender Series.
He's finished all three opponents with his biggest win coming last time out over Li Jingliang at UFC 305 in August.
As a member of the Fighting Nerds team, Prates has quickly risen up the rankings with his finishing instincts and ruthless striking skills but this won't phase a veteran like Magny.
With the most wins in the history of the UFC's welterweight division, the 41-fight veteran has been used as a measuring stick for welterweight hopefuls for a long time.
Though he has fallen in recent times to the likes of Michael Morales and Ian Machado Garry, he has also secured wins over Mike Malott and Philip Rowe.
Magny is known for his awkward fighting style and seemingly never-ending gas tank which makes him an interesting match-up for an opponent that is used to closing the show early.
They will clash in a five-round bout at the UFC Apex that also sees the Octagon debut of former ONE Championship star Reinier de Ridder.
The card is also set to feature returns from the likes of former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt, Nicolas Dalby and Melissa Mullins.
Magny vs. Prates as the main event was confirmed by MMA Fighting.
