Kevin is a man who likes to keep active. Sometimes, this involves taking out internet trolls. Sometimes, it’s elite fighters. Whichever he’s doing on any given day, his journey is always entertaining. With 26 professional MMA wins and a record that boasts 14 knockouts and 9 submissions, Holland’s career is about striking accuracy, powerful takedowns, and a love of taking brutal fights. Competing three times in 2024, he’s become one of the sport’s most active fighters, which is a testament to his personality. And when he's not trading blows, he'll engage in the occasional 'sparring session' with anyone foolish enough to challenge him — including internet trolls. When a brash keyboard warrior challenged him, he invited the troll to his gym, giving him the whole 'Trailblazer' experience. Holland issued a brutal lesson in humility, which he posted for his fans to enjoy. If there’s one thing his story teaches, it’s that whether in the cage or on social media, you don’t mess with Kevin Holland and Fighters Only caught up with him to learn more about the lifestyle that facilitates all of this.

What drives you to stay one of the most active fighters in the UFC?

I’m all about staying in the game. Fighting keeps me sharp, and the more I’m in there, the better I get. I love the challenge, and it’s what I’m here for - no point in sitting around.

How do you maintain your energy and motivation to compete at such a high frequency?

I stay motivated by reminding myself I’m doing what I love. Energy comes from the excitement. I’m either training, fighting, or figuring out how to win, and I thrive off that. Or hunting.

What’s your mindset like after back-to-back fights?

Right back to work. Every fight teaches me something new. I don’t dwell on it. I just take the lessons and keep moving forward. Back at it like a jackrabbit.

How do you manage the physical toll of fighting so regularly?

BioSteel recovery! And recovery is key. I take care of myself outside the cage, lots of therapy, proper rest, good food. It’s a grind, but I’ve got it down.

Do you prefer this pace, or do you think you’ll slow down in the future?

No sense in slowing down. The fight game isn't a long career, so I want to make as big an impact as I can, and that means fighting often.

What’s your approach to self-care amidst this rapid schedule?

Hydration, good food, and making sure I get decent sleep. I make time for the basics so my body holds up under pressure. Getting out in the woods or on my land to hunt keeps me grounded, too.

Is there a particular meal or cheat food you crave after a fight?

Burgers, cookies, and booty!

Do you have a hobby that helps you mentally escape from fighting?

Hunting’s my thing. It’s a whole different kind of challenge, and it gives me time away from the spotlight.

What’s the most rewarding part of staying active in the UFC, personally and professionally?

The money is great, fighting for the premier promotion in the world. And I like doing things other guys can't seem to do, which is fight a lot. The more you fight, the more you make, so fight more.

Do you have a favorite book, movie, or music that keeps you motivated between fights?

I’m all Suits right now - Harvey Specter is my guy. As for music, some Mexican OT or Trae the Truth, NBA YoungBoy, and I just released some tracks, too.

What’s the one personal habit you refuse to compromise, even with your schedule?

Hunting and time with my kids. I turned down going to a Trump rally the other day to take my son hunting.

Do you have a favorite place to escape and clear your mind?

I just bought 100 acres, and I'm spending a lot of time getting it set up for hunting. I like riding my horse quite a bit, too. I think staying outside is a good way to stay in touch with the real world.
