The 2024 PFL World Championships took place last night in Riyadh where this year's season came to an end by crowning six new champions.
There was a lot of action to digest with three separate sections of the card but by the time that the main six championship bouts came along, the highlights came thick and fast.
In the main event, Timur Khizriev remained undefeated, beating 2022 champion Brendan Loughnane via the only decision on the main card.
The Russian was able to use his grappling and his vastly improved striking to keep Loughnane guessing, keeping himself in control at all times.
The star of the show was undoubtedly Dakota Ditcheva who in the biggest challenge of her career to date, looked better than ever, stopping Taila Santos in the second round.
As a former UFC title challenger, many expected Santos to really test the undefeated Brit but Ditcheva was just as dominant as she has been throughout her PFL run.
The wildest of the championship bouts came at light heavyweight where Dovlet Yagshimuradov stopped last year's winning Impa Kasanganay in under a minute following some dramatic striking exchanges early on.
Shamil Musaev won the battle of the undefeated Russians at welterweight by putting on a near-perfect performance before finishing Magomed Umalatov in the third with a ruthless left hook.
Another Russian put on a clinic in the lightweight offering as Gadzhi Rabadanov dropped Brent Primus multiple times before putting his man away also in the third round.
The main card opener with Denis Goltsov finally going all the way in a PFL season, producing a stunning triangle submission off of his back to end the winning streak of Oleg Popov in the first round.
