Muhammad Mokaev was set to make his return to BRAVE CF this week following his UFC departure earlier this year.
Shortly after his win over Manel Kape at UFC 304 in July, it was announced that "The Punisher" would be returning to the promotion that he fought for before he made his way to the Octagon.
With his next fight booked in for BRAVE CF 91 at Khalifa Sports City in Bahrain on December 13, there was a lot of talk regarding his potential opponent.
South Africa's Luthando Biko, who is a former multiple time champion in EFC, was seen as a quality opponent for Mokaev in a fight that would surely attract a lot of eyeballs considering how highly the former UFC contender is rated.
MMA Fighting has now reported that Biko has been forced to withdraw from the fight due to health issues with the promotion now in search of a late replacement.
The 24-year old Mokaev has already earned back-to-back wins in 2024, defeating Alex Perez and Kape to extend his undefeated record to 12-0.
BRAVE CF 91 is currently set to be headlined by the bantamweight title fight between the champion Nkosi Ndebele and his challenger, Nicholas Hwende.
This was already set to be an incredibly busy week for the promotion with two events taking place this weekend as BRAVE CF 92 takes place on Sunday, December 15.
Now they will be tasked with finding someone who is willing to step in and face one of the top flyweights in the world on just a few days notice.
