There have been some major shifts in KSW's bantamweight division following the news that the champion, Jakub Wiklacz, will be departing the promotion.

The 28-year old has proven himself to be one of the top talents in Europe right now having debuted with KSW back in 2020.

During his time in the promotion, he has won six fights with one loss and one draw which includes a quadrilogy of fights with Sebastian Przybysz.

His last appearance came back in June where he submitted Przybysz at KSW 95 in what was their fifth and likely final meeting and his third title defence.

The news was announced via social media with many expected that Wiklacz will be UFC bound as competing inside the Octagon has always been a dream of his:

"KSW and its bantamweight champion @jakub_wiklacz have decided to terminate their cooperation. Kuba, we'd like to thank you for eight exciting bouts, memorable title matches and representing KSW in a dignified way. We wish you nothing but success outside our organization."

With Wiklacz departing, a new bantamweight champion will be crowned at KSW 102 in Radom, Poland on January 25.

Przybysz will be out to regain his control of the division that was disrupted by the arrival of Wiklacz four years ago.

The Polish fighter will be taking on Brazil's Bruno Azevedo who made his KSW debut in August where he submitted Oleksii Polischuck in the second round.

He has an overall record of 21-4 with a stunning 15 wins via submission at 34-years old.

Back in 2010, in his fourth pro fight, he suffered his one and only submission loss to the current UFC flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja in the Brazilian promotion Shooto.
