At 28-years old, Aaron Pico is still one of the most exciting talents in the world despite some of the setbacks that he has faced in his career.

Having not fought since last February, there is some confusion surrounding his future right now and where he will be competing.

Pico made his pro debut in Bellator back in 2017 and aside from his last outing which came at the PFL vs. Bellator card, every fight he has had has been for the same promotion.

In a recent interview with MMA Junkie, the California native's manager, Ali Abdelaziz, revealed that there may be a chance that he would be leaving the PFL after being one of the major signings that the promotion made when they acquired Bellator last year.

Abdelaziz said that his fighter is currently a free agent and though the UFC would be appealing to him, re-signing with the PFL is an option that is very much on the table.

He also stated in the same interview that Pico was set to face Patricio Pitbull for the Bellator featherweight title in a co-promotional event with RIZIN but the fight and event being removed from the schedule meant that the challenger's contract had reached its end:

"Pico right now is a free agent. I'm sure the UFC wants him. I'm sure PFL wants to keep him... Pico's a businessman. Pico likes money. UFC, of course he would love to become a UFC champion, but if PFL can offer me a deal I can't refuse, then he's going to take it."

This statement was recently rejected by PFL founder Donn Davis who posted a message on X in response to the news.

"2025 hopefully brings less MMA noise and disinformation... PFL has offered Pico title fight and major new contract... We love Aaron and look forward to him having big fights at PFL for the long-term."
