At UFC 311, two former champions went head-to-head after somehow circling each other for quite some time.
Jiří Procházka and Jamahal Hill put on an incredible contest at the Intuit Dome on Saturday night before seemingly settling any differences between them afterwards with a show of respect.
Both men previously held the gold at 205-pounds but had to vacate the title due to significant injuries that would keep them out of the Octagon for a long stretch of time.
After Hill won the vacant title that was left behind by Procházka, it seemed obvious that they would meet in the near future until "Sweet Dreams" suffered a similar fate.
During that time, Alex Pereira moved up to the division and went on to become the champion at UFC 295 before beating both men in title defences last year.
Their eventual meeting this past weekend was an incredibly entertaining back-and-forth contest with the momentum swinging from side to side.
Ultimately, it was the Czech fighter that prevailed after hurting Hill in the third round and pouring on the pressure to get the finish.
The bout would have easily won fight of the night honours but it just so happened to be followed by one of the best title fights in years between Merab Dvalishvili and Umar Nurmagomedov.
In a video posted by Hill on social media, any tension that existed between him and opponent before they met inside the Octagon was squashed.
It appears that Procházka bought Hill a drink after running into him that same night, leading them to a respectful exchange where they shared a great moment with one another.
It's not obvious what will be next for both men at this time but it's always great to see things end on positive terms between two adversaries.
