The UFC returns to Saudi Arabia on February 1 with a card that is more stacked than you'd expect a Fight Night event to be.
Unfortunately, the card is now one fight down after Andre Muniz withdrew from his middleweight clash with Ikram Aliskerov.
Muniz announced on social media that he was having complications in regards to his travel plans due to some passport issues that could interfere with his trip to Riyadh.
The Brazilian also stated that the UFC have chosen to put this fight back together at a later date in what will likely be a different location, rather than giving Aliskerov a new opponent on short notice in order to keep him on the card.
This is the second time that the two men have been booked to face one another with the fight being pulled from the card.
They were originally set to meet in last year's Saudi Arabia Fight Night card in June but Muniz had to pull out due to an injury on that occasion.
Following Khamzat Chimaev's health issues, Aliskerov ended up stepping into the main event where he was defeated by the former 185-pound champion, Robert Whittaker.
The 32-year old Russian hasn't fought since then having previously recorded consecutive first-round finishes over Phil Hawes and Warlley Alves to open his UFC account.
Muniz, on the other hand, has been active since a split decision win over Jun Yong Park which took place at the UFC Apex in December of 2023.
Before that, he had suffered back-to-back stoppage losses to Brendan Allen and Paul Craig which ended his impressive five-fight win streak that included a submission victory over Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza.
Stay tuned throughout fight week for more updates as we build towards Saturday night in Riyadh and the return of Israel Adesanya.
