As fight fans, you never know when one of the biggest and best bouts of the year is going to be announced, sending shockwaves across the sport.
These blockbuster reveals tend to come from a report or the UFC itself but in this case, a member of the roster has seemingly revealed some insider information about an upcoming title fight.
UFC middleweight contender Bo Nickal has gone 4-0 inside the Octagon since signing with the promotion in the final months of 2022.
The wrestling prodigy continued his quick trajectory last year by recording big wins on two of the biggest cards of the year, beating Cody Brundage at UFC 300 and Paul Craig at UFC 309.
In a recent video on his YouTube channel, Nickal said that he's hoping to make a return in April on the PPV card that is booked in for Miami.
He also said that, according to Nickal himself without further verification, that Ilia Topuria will be defending his featherweight title in a rematch with Alexander Volkanovski on the same night.
April 12 at the Kaseya Center would seemingly make sense for both men as they run it back for the 145-pound gold over a year on from their first encounter.
At UFC 298 last year, "El Matador" remained undefeated and brought the incredible title reign of Volkanovski to an end by stopping him in the second round in Anaheim, California.
“It’s official,” Nickal said about Topuria vs. Volkanovski 2 on his YouTube channel. “I know for a fact. I don’t know that it was announced for a fact, but I know it’s happening for a fact. I’m announcing it.
“I might fight on that card. That’s the card I’m trying to fight on. April, Miami.”
Several other fights have already been reported for UFC 314 in Miami with top strawweights Virna Jandiroba and Yan Xiaonan facing off along with the return of Gilbert Burns who will be taking on Michael Morales.
