The PFL 2025 World Tournament got under way at Universal Studios in Florida on Thursdsay night.
The first intsallment featured the opening rounds of both the welterweight and featherwieght eight-man Grand Prix tournaments, which carries a $500,000 bonus for the winner of each respective bracket.
In the main event, former Bellator welterweight champion dominated Andrey Korshkov, bringing the fight to the Russian and eventually securing the takedown and sinking in a rear naked choke to finish the fight in round two.
The winner of last year's featherweight tournament, Jesus Pinedo, picked up an impressive first-round knockout win over Adam Borics in the co-main event to move forward into the semi-finals.
Bellator veteran Logan Storley outpointed late-notice replacement opponent Joseph Luciano to advance in the welterweight bracket, while Movlid Khaybulaev edged out Jeremy Stephens in the fight of the night to move on to the featherweight semi-finals.
There were also finishes on the undercard for Thad Jean, Gabriel Braga and Tae Hyun Kim, who all progree to the next stage of the Grand Prix.
