A massive fight in the UFC lightweight division has been scheduled for UFC Fight Night: Hill vs. Rountree, taking place in Baku, Azerbaijan, on June 21.

Rafael Fiziev and Ignacio Bahamondes are set to face off in the co-main event at Baku Crystal Hall, marking the UFC’s debut event in Azerbaijan.

Fiziev (12-4 MMA, 6-4 UFC) makes a quick return to the Octagon following his decision loss to Justin Gaethje at UFC 313 in March. "Ataman" stepped in on that occasion at short notice to replace the injured Dan Hooker, while also making his long-awaited comeback from the knee injury he sustained in his September 2023 bout against Mateusz Gamrot.

Having now lost twice to Gaethje—with the knee injury in between—Fiziev finds himself on a three-fight losing streak. The Kazakh star, currently ranked No. 11 in the 155-pound division, had hinted at a possible move to featherweight after his last fight, but it now appears those plans have been put on hold.

Ignacio Bahamondes (17-5 MMA, 6-2 UFC) enters this matchup fresh off a first-round submission win over Jalin Turner at UFC 313.

"La Jaula" has finished his last three fights in the opening round, earning a Performance of the Night bonus for each. The Chilean standout has finished five of his six UFC wins inside the distance and will view this bout with Fiziev as a chance to break into marquee matchups against the top names in the UFC lightweight division.
