The weigh-ins for UFC on ESPN 67 took place earlier at the host hotel. The event is scheduled to be held at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, marking the UFC’s first visit to the state of Iowa in 25 years.
All 24 fighters on the card successfully made weight. The event is set to be headlined by a highly anticipated clash between two top-five ranked bantamweights, as both Cory Sandhagen and Deiveson Figueiredo look to return to the win column.
Sandhagen was outpointed by Usman Nurmagomedov in their clash last August in Abu Dhabi. Nurmagomedov went on to (unsuccessfully) challenge Merab Dvalishvili for the UFC bantamweight title.
Former UFC flyweight champion Figueiredo had won his first three fights since moving up to 135 pounds last year, before losing by decision to Petr Yan at the end of 2024.
With Sean O'Malley set to challenge Dvalishvili in the main event at UFC 316 next month, a strong performance and convincing win here could propel either contender into title contention.
Both fighters in the co-main event also made weight. Pennsylvania State wrestling phenom Bo Nickal, who remains unbeaten in his mixed martial arts career, is set to face former two-division ONE Championship world champion Reinier de Ridder. De Ridder has submitted both Gerald Meerschaert and Kevin Holland since crossing over to the UFC late last year.
