Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm is set to return to the world of professional boxing.

Holm (15-7 MMA, 8-7 UFC) parted ways with the UFC in January of this year by mutual agreement. The 43-year-old then signed with Global Fight League (GFL).

After that promotion failed to get off the ground, “The Preacher’s Daughter” secured her release and announced this week that she has joined Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP). She is now set to face Yolanda Vega (10-0) on the undercard of the Jake Paul vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. event, scheduled to take place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, on June 28.

“I'm excited to partner with Most Valuable Promotions and return to the boxing ring,” said Holm in a press release Wednesday. “This new chapter is going to be an exciting journey, and I'm looking forward to the challenge. Coming full circle back to boxing- I've spent most of my MMA career at 135 pounds, and now I have the opportunity to make my boxing debut at that weight. With boxing titles in three higher weight classes under my belt, I'm eager to pursue a fourth title in a new division.”

Holm last competed in professional boxing in 2013 before transitioning to a long and accomplished career in mixed martial arts.

She compiled a professional boxing record of 33-2-3 and captured multiple world titles throughout her career. In recognition of her achievements, she was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2022.

Holm made her UFC debut in early 2015 and quickly became a standout in the women’s bantamweight division. Not long after, she earned a shot at the title against the sport’s biggest star at the time, Ronda Rousey.

Entering the bout as a heavy underdog, Holm shocked the world by knocking out Rousey in the second round to claim the UFC bantamweight championship.
