Robert Whittaker has had enough of the ongoing “will they, won’t they” saga between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall.

Since capturing the UFC interim heavyweight title at UFC 295 in November 2023, Aspinall (15-3 MMA, 8-1 UFC) has been relentlessly pursuing a title unification bout with Jones. However, his calls have largely gone unanswered, as the reigning champion has shown little interest in facing the British contender.

After returning from a year-long injury layoff last November, Jones (28-1 MMA, 22-1 UFC) opted to take on former champion Stipe Miocic at UFC 309, leaving Aspinall sidelined and frustrated.

Although UFC President Dana White has assured fans that the fight will eventually happen, it now appears more distant than ever—especially with Jones recently traveling to Russia to film a reality TV show alongside former UFC star Nate Diaz.

Former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker has grown weary of the situation, even comparing it to one of his least favorite video games.

“Honestly, who cares now?” Whittaker said this week on his podcast MMA Arcade. “Like I'm done, I'm done with waiting. It's like Elder Scrolls 6 dude, you know what I mean? Just gonna have to play something else, man. Yeah, yeah, like I'm done and honestly everyone nagging him and poking at him and trying to get clips and stuff is worse for me.

“Like it's…they're like, yeah it's way worse for me. It's just…I'm done with that too. I'm just done. I think I get it. I don't know how Jones still holds the title, honestly. Like I know I mentioned when we first started speaking about this many moons ago how I was like, ‘no one's stripping Jones, you can't do that to him’ but mate, come on! You're taking the piss now! You're like…you're starting to piss me off!”
