After two months on the road, the UFC returns to the APEX in Las Vegas this Saturday night. The event will be headlined by a flyweight showdown between rising Japanese star Tatsuro Taira (16-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) and South Korea’s Hyun Sung Park (10-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC), who stepped in at the last minute to replace the injured Amir Albazi.
Let’s take a look at some of the key matchups on the UFC Vegas 108 main card.
Main Event: Tatsuro Taira vs. Hyun Sung Park (Flyweight)
Tatsuro Taira, one of the most promising talents to emerge from Japan in recent years, enters his third consecutive UFC Apex main event looking to rebound from the first loss of his professional career. That setback came in October via a close split decision against former title challenger Brandon Royval.
Before the loss, Taira had gone 6–0 in the UFC, earning four stoppage victories and collecting four Performance of the Night bonuses. Now ranked No. 6 in the flyweight division, the 25-year-old was originally set to face No. 4-ranked Amir Albazi—an opportunity to leapfrog a top contender—but didn’t hesitate to accept a new opponent when Albazi withdrew earlier this week.
Hyun Sung Park may not yet be ranked, but he poses a serious threat. The former Road to UFC winner has finished all three of his UFC opponents to date and has shown he’s dangerous in every area of the fight. With both fighters boasting an 80% combined finish rate, this matchup has all the ingredients for a thrilling and potentially explosive main event.
Co-Main Event: Chris Duncan vs. Mateusz Rebecki (Lightweight)
Training partners at American Top Team with identical UFC records will square off in Saturday’s co-main event, as Scotland’s Chris Duncan (13–2 MMA, 4–1 UFC) looks to keep his momentum going after back-to-back guillotine choke finishes over Bolaji Oki and Jordan Vucenic.
Polish standout Mateusz Rebecki (20–2 MMA, 4–1 UFC) makes his return for the first time since his thrilling war with Myktybek Orolbai at UFC 308 last October—a bout that earned both men performance bonuses. That victory got Rebecki back on track after his first loss in over a decade, a TKO defeat to Diego Ferreira in May 2024.
Esteban Ribovics vs. Elves Brener (Lightweight)
The age-old rivalry between Argentina and Brazil reignites this Saturday as Esteban Ribovics (14–2 MMA, 3–2 UFC) faces Elves Brener (16–5 MMA, 3–2 UFC). Ribovics holds the record for the fastest head-kick knockout in UFC lightweight history after finishing Terrance McKinney in just 37 seconds last year. He followed that up with a Fight of the Year contender against Daniel Zellhuber at The Sphere in September.
Brener opened his UFC run with three strong wins in 2024, but the Brazilian struggled last year, dropping back-to-back fights to Myktybek Orolbai and Joel Alvarez. Now riding a two-fight skid, the Chute Boxe prospect may be feeling the pressure heading into Saturday’s matchup.
Karol Rosa vs. Nora Cornolle (Bantamweight)
Karol Rosa (18–7 MMA, 7–4 UFC) looks to return to the win column this weekend after being outpointed by Ailin Perez at UFC 311 in January. She faces a tough challenge in France’s Nora Cornolle (9–2 MMA, 3–1 UFC), who enters Saturday’s matchup riding the momentum of an impressive submission victory over Hailey Cowan at UFC 314 in April.
Neil Magny vs. Elizeu Zaleski (Welterweight)
Veteran Neil Magny (29–13 MMA, 22–12 UFC) returns this weekend for his 35th UFC appearance—a new record for the welterweight division. The “Haitian Sensation” already holds the records for most wins (22) and longest total fight time (6:56:48) in the division’s history.
A staple at 170 pounds since his debut following The Ultimate Fighter Season 16 in 2012, Magny will actually be the younger man in the Octagon on Saturday when he faces Elizeu Zaleski (25–9–1 MMA, 11–5–1 UFC). The 38-year-old Brazilian, who owns notable wins over Benoit Saint-Denis and Sean Strickland, returns to action for the first time since being knocked out by Chidi Njokuani in March.
Danny Silva vs. Kevin Vallejos (Featherweight)
Saturday’s main card opener features a showdown between two Dana White’s Contender Series alumni, each looking to preserve a perfect UFC record. Danny Silva (10–1 MMA, 2–0 UFC) squares off against Kevin Vallejos (15–1 MMA, 1–0 UFC), who rebounded from a loss to Jean Silva on DWCS in 2023 by scoring a knockout win over Cam Teague in his second appearance a year later—earning his shot in the UFC.
