Legacy Fighting Alliance made its first trip to California of the year on Friday night with LFA 227 at the Ventura County Fairgrounds in Ventura.
The main event featured a pivotal bantamweight clash between seasoned LFA contender Rafael “Mulisha” do Nascimento (11-3) and Japan’s Shuya Kamikubo (16-2-1), with significant title implications attached.
The bout delivered on expectations. Both athletes looked good on the feet and Do Nascimento landed a spinning elbow late in the fight that sent Kamikubo crashing to the canvas. “Mulisha” quickly transitioned to the back and locked in a rear-naked choke attempt, but the horn sounded before he could secure the finish.
After three hard-fought rounds, do Nascimento emerged victorious on all three judges’ scorecards.
In the co-main event, Allan Begosso delivered a statement performance. A crushing left hook floored Arnold Jimenez, and Begosso followed up with ground strikes to earn a second-round stoppage. Mariana Piccolo claimed the Brunt Workwear “Hard Work Moment of the Night” award after earning a unanimous decision over Zoe Nowicki.
