Dana White believes the UFC’s next major spectacle could be even bigger than its historic event at the White House.
Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show this week, the UFC CEO reflected on the recently held Freedom 250 fight card and revealed that the promotion is already discussing another ambitious event that could potentially eclipse it.
White described the White House event as the greatest experience of his career, despite the high expectations surrounding the card.
“There will never be anything like the White House ever again,” White said. “I mean, that night, you know, we already had high expectations for it, and I was blown away. It's the greatest thing that I've ever been a part of. Being there live was amazing.”
However, White suggested that UFC head of production Craig Borsari is already thinking beyond the landmark event.
“But now, my head of production, Craig Borsari, is so cocky after he absolutely killed that event,” White said.
According to White, Borsari has proposed an idea for another major UFC production that has caught the promoter’s attention. White stopped short of revealing any details, saying he still has to do additional groundwork before deciding whether the concept can become a reality.
“We are talking about something right now that he came up with,” White said. “This was his idea, and I love it. I have to do some more groundwork on it, and if I end up doing this, I'll announce it here first.”
White’s comments suggest the UFC could be considering another unprecedented event, although there is currently no indication of what Borsari’s proposal entails or when it could take place.
For now, White is keeping the details close to the vest. But his willingness to tease the project on The Pat McAfee Show indicates that the UFC may already be working on its next attempt to create a spectacle on the scale of — or potentially beyond — its White House event.
