OKTAGON 94 in Frankfurt’s Deutsche Bank Park football stadium has shattered all previous viewership records and become the most-watched show in the organisation's ten-year history.
Attended live by 57,000 spectators in the stadium, the biggest MMA event of the year also achieved extraordinary success on television screens and streams. Across all platforms, the event was watched live by more than 1.8 million unique viewers, while total content views surpassed 4.7 million. A major contributor to this record was the free-to-air broadcast on Germany's national network, RTL, alongside a new global partnership with DAZN.
The evening's final two bouts were broadcast live in Germany on RTL’s free-to-air national television channel, drawing more than 922,000 unique viewers to screens. A new record was also set on the streaming platform RTL+, which recorded 462,000 viewers. The event's international reach was further bolstered by the newly formed partnership with global streaming powerhouse DAZN, making the broadcast available to fans in more than 150 countries worldwide.
"OKTAGON 94 once again proved that we generate the biggest numbers in Europe, and our television presence continues to grow stronger,” stated promotion co-owner and promoter, Ondřej Novotný. “Getting the two main fights onto Germany's free-to-air RTL channel and reaching over 1.8 million viewers is a historic milestone for European MMA.”
The massive interest in the event and its accompanying program was reflected not only on television screens, but also across official social media metrics. OKTAGON 94 delivered 215.7 million total impressions, 71,601 new Instagram followers and a social media reach of 434 million across our channels, media, creators and fighters combined.
The tremendous audience response was mirrored by the action inside the cage, which delivered compelling sporting drama throughout the night. David Kozma secured a statement victory by finishing Christian Eckerlin, while Max Coga and Christian Jungwirth produced a thrilling ‘XTB Fight of the Night’ battle. Karlos Vémola also made history, becoming the first man to defeat Vosgrone in a dramatic encounter.
