We’ve shown you enough money shots of Alexander Volkanovski punching people. After nine UFC featherweight title-fight wins, we've practically exhausted the English language to describe what his fists do to other people's faces. So, here's something different. Something he’s earned. A 38-year-old man looking ridiculously pleased with himself after ruining an undefeated Russian's evening in less than ten minutes. At UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi, Volkanovski handed Movsar Evloev his first professional defeat, ending a 20-fight winning streak with a second-round TKO. Apparently, there was domestic pressure to finish early.

“I actually promised the missus, it was our wedding anniversary on Wednesday, I promised her a quick one (win) so she wasn't stressing on the sidelines,” Volkanovski explained afterward.

Naturally, retirement came up again, because apparently turning 38 in MMA means everyone starts measuring you for a rocking chair. Volkanovski wasn't having it.

“I said if I didn't take too much damage, we'll probably keep going, so maybe we keep going.”

And why wouldn't he? He's still winning titles, ruining perfect records and making younger men question their career choices. This one captures the much rarer sight of a fighter who seems to have nothing left to prove, yet keeps finding people who insist he does.
