When Dana White (UFC president) sinks his teeth into this and gets ready for a rematch, it’s going to be huge. It just will – even though I don’t think the outcome is going to be anything different than it was in Australia. It wasn’t a close match. It wasn’t a competitive match. It was a one-sided beating. But, as for the short term, they will do huge numbers for part two. 

Holly Holm – as great as she is physically – I don’t think she’s going to be able to transcend MMA like Ronda did. Ronda was a very unique personality. She’s very likeable, she’s very marketable. She does and says the right things. Holly is just a really kind and sweet person that’s a really good fighter. But the division is so shallow it’s the only fight that makes real sense.

It wouldn’t be a great idea for Ronda to rematch Holly right away – not after the manner in which she lost the first fight. I think it would be better for her to take another fight before any rematch. You want to fight the biggest fights in your career when you’re in a rhythm and have confidence, things are going well with your support network and you’re in that right moment. 

So, if I’m her trainer, I know it’s not the best move financially and not what the organization wants, but I would want her to work out some kinks and prepare a little bit more for what people think can defeat her, then go into that fight when she’s hungry and she’s focused. If I was in her corner, I’d rather have her kick somebody else’s butt first and then fight Holly with her confidence and swagger.
