THURSDAY 11TH

Drug testing has become a huge issue in MMA, and there’s a huge focus on keeping championship contests clean. In keeping with the UFC’s commitment to maintaining a level playing field between athletes, Joanna has blood taken as part of her pre-fight testing – less than two weeks out from her main event against #3-ranked contender Jessica Penne.

FRIDAY 12TH

It’s back to training for the first Polish champion in UFC history, and Bulletproof coffee is JJ’s choice of fuel for the day.

SUNDAY 14TH

As one of the more outspoken personalities in the women’s 115lb division, Jedrzejczyk doesn’t shy away from pre-fight trash-talk – in fact, she seems to enjoy instigating it. This is shown when she posts a photo on her Instagram page of her ferociously biting into a forkful of penne pasta.

TUESDAY 16TH

After weeks of intense training in her home country of Poland, Joanna arrives with her team in Berlin, Germany, where she will put her belt on the line at the O2 World Arena on Saturday.

FRIDAY 19TH

It’s weigh-in day for the UFC Fight Night 69 fighters. Both Joanna and Jessica make weight at 114lb, but things get heated when they go face-to-face after they step off the scales. Words are exchanged, and the tension between the two fighters is high, building the anticipation for an exciting main event the following night.

SATURDAY 20TH

For the climax of a night filled with stoppages, Jedrzejczyk and Penne finally come to blows inside the Octagon. The opening round is closely contested, but the second and third are all Polish as the former Muay Thai world champion picks apart and bloodies up her American opponent en route to a TKO finish late in the third. Afterwards, the bout is awarded ‘Fight of the Night’ honors.

MONDAY 22ND

While she was landing an incredible 162 strikes out of 247, it comes as a shock to fans when it’s revealed JJ suffered a broken right thumb during the contest. The injury required surgery, but the champ says she hopes to fight again in November or December.
