His real glory days consigned to memory, Shogun Rua proves he's still top of the class with students of MMA.
Despite sporting battle scars almost from head to toe, former UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua leads a class at Kings MMA as he heads into the final chapter in his illustrious MMA career. Though he’s only 33 years old, Rua’s time at the very top of the sport is ticking down, but a decade ago he was the planet’s best 205lb fighter. By winning the Pride middleweight grand prix at Final Conflict 2005, Shogun replaced teammate Wanderlei Silva as the world number one in his weight class. Check out this month’s main feature, starting on page 66, as we relive one of MMA’s most iconic events and a legendary breakout performance.
